The Secret to Resilience
It’s not about pushing harder but rather seeing your challenges differently.

One business owner I coached hit a wall. Her company was struggling, she was stretched thin at home, and she told me she felt like a failure in both roles.
Her first instinct was the same as many leaders: dig deeper. She thought she needed more grit. Work harder. Get smarter. Keep pushing that boulder up the hill.
But the more she pushed, the more exhausted she felt. Instead of making progress, she ended up worn down and discouraged.
What she really needed wasn’t more grit. It was a new perspective.
She realized she didn’t have to keep pressing harder. She could reframe her perspective on her situation.
Instead of trying to do everything at once, she began structuring her day into clear compartments. A couple of hours fully devoted to her business. A couple of hours fully present at home.
And when she couldn’t be in one of those compartments, she permitted herself to call on others to take on more responsibility. She asked others for support—something she had never done before.
That shift—reframing her perspective on responsibility—made her stronger.
This is the real secret to resilience. It isn’t found in endless grit or brute force. It comes from changing your perspective on the struggle so you can see new options and keep moving forward.
Reframing questions makes it possible:
· What if I started to let others take on more responsibility?
· What if I asked for more help when I need it?
· What if I only need to take one step today, not all of them?
· What if this challenging time is shaping me for what’s next?
I believe the ability to reframe and shift your thinking is one of the most important skills a person can use at work and in life.
Challenges don’t vanish when you reframe them, but they stop being roadblocks and start becoming building blocks.
So, here’s your question:
What if resilience isn’t something you’re born with, but something you build—one new perspective at a time?
You're one action away. Starting today.
