One of the easiest ways to simplify and strengthen relationships is by taking people at face value. Assume they have good intentions. In the American justice system, people are innocent until proven guilty. It is the other way around with many relationships. We assume people have bad intentions. Someone is out to get us or take advantage of us. Yes, there are people like that. But there are far more good people. Most people are like us. Good people. Not perfect, but good.

Assume the best in people until proven otherwise. Connecting with people is much easier when you’re not constantly looking over your shoulder. Or creating scenarios in your mind that may or may not even happen.
